Imperial Cities & South

Morocco has four imperial cities: Fez, founded by the Idrisid Sultan Idris I, Marrakech, founded by the Almoravid Sultan Youssef Ibn Tachfin, Rabat, founded by the Almohad Sultan Abd al-Mumin, Meknes, founded in the eleventh century by the Almoravid dynasty under the reign of the Alawite Sultan Ismaïl ben Chérif

Day 01 (Casablanca – Rabat)

Arrival in Casablanca, welcome at the Mohamed V airport and assistance by our English or French speaking driver. Visit of the economic capital:

  • Mohamed V Square, central market, United Nations Square and the great Hassan II mosque.
  • Continuation to Rabat, white imperial city and administrative capital of the Kingdom. Its visit includes: The Mechouar, the Kasbah of Oudayas, the gardens of chellah, the magnificent Mausoleum Mohamed V and the Hassan Tower.
Day 02 (Rabat -Meknes- Fez)
  • A very rich day dedicated to the discovery of the city of Meknes, the famous gates of Bab el Mansour and Bab el Khamis, the stables of Moulay Ismaïl, then the holy city of Molay Idris before joining the ancient Roman site of Volubilis with its superb mosaics.
  • Road to Fez.
Day 03 (Fez)

Day dedicated to Fez with a local guide, the oldest of the imperial cities, which was for centuries the cultural and religious center of the Muslim West.

  • Discovery of the medina and its souks, the Medersa Bou Inania or Attarine, then the Nejarine square with its magnificent fountain decorated with mosaics.
  • Lunch option in an old palace of the medina.
  • Visit of the Batha museum of popular art, the Royal Palace and the Merinides tombs from where you have a view of the city and its ramparts.
Day 04 (Fez-Midelt-Erfoud)
  • eparture to Erfoud through the mountains and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, via Ifrane, a charming ski resort, and Azrou, an important craft center.
  • Lunch in Midelt. Continuation to Erfoud via Errachidia and along the Ziz valley, dotted with palm trees, and home of the annual date festival held in Erfoud.
  • Dinner and accommodation in Erfoud, Option to spend the night in tents in Merzouga.
Day 05 : ( Erfoud-thinghir-Ouarzazate)
  • Early in the morning an optional excursion is proposed to you to attend the sunrise on the sand dunes of Merzouga.
  • Back to the hotel for breakfast and continuation to Rissani, the holy city where Molay Ali Cherif, ancestor of the current Alaouite, is buried.
  • Continuation to Thinghir by the road to Tinjdad.
  • Visit of the impressive Todra Gorges.
  • You will then leave for Ouarzazate, along the road of the 1000 kasbahs and the valley of roses, where you will spend the night.
Day 06 : (Ouarzazate-Marrakech)
  • Discover the kasbahs of Taourirte, symbol of the expansion of the Glaouis, Tifoultoute which enjoys a superb view over the entire valley and that of Ait Benhadou one of the most authentic and best preserved of the entire Atlas region used as a backdrop to films from around the world including "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Gladiator".
  • Lunch in a restaurant facing the kasbah.
  • Continuation then towards Marrakech through the mountains of the High Atlas range by crossing at 2260 m of altitude the pass of Tizi-n-Tichka: The road winds between deep valleys and abrupt summits, and offers a succession of wild landscapes of which you will admire the grandiose panoramas.
Day 07 : (Marrakech)
  • This morning will be dedicated to the visit of the red city Marrakech, the oldest imperial city of Morocco and known as the "Pearl of the South" the city was founded by the Almoravids at the end of the 11th century. The historical tour includes.
  • The gardens of the Menara, the Bahia Palace, and the Koutoubia.
  • In the afternoon, visit the spice market, the souks (potter, jewelers.) and the famous Jamaa el Fna square.
  • Dinner and accommodation at the hotel. Optional: Evening at Ali's.
Day 08 : ( Marrakech-Departure)
  • Transfer to the airport assistance with departure formalities. End of our services.
